DAY 1
SINGAPORE - BUCHAREST (Meals on board)
Assemble at Changi Airport for your long haul flight to the capital of Romania – Bucharest. Enroute enjoy the inflight entertainment provided by your premium carrier.
DAY 2
BUCHAREST (Lunch/ Folk Show Dinner)
Upon arrival, be greeted by your local guide who will bring you to visit the various attractions of Bucharest including the Government Victoria Palace, the Royal Palace and the Savings Palace. Tonight enjoy an entertaining and sumptuous Romanian Folk Show Dinner with performance.
DAY 3
BUCHAREST - SINAIA - BRASOV AREA (Breakfast/ Lunch)
Leave this morning for a stop in Sinaia in the Prahova Valley. While in Sinaia there will be time to visit the Sinaia Monastery and Peles Castle, used during the dictatorship of Ceausescu to entertain his cronies. Only a few more miles and you reach Brasov, a lovely Medieval Town and famous for its town square, studded with baroque architecture and outdoor cafes.
DAY 4
BRASOV - BRAN - SIGHISOARA (Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner)
Today we shall start with a city tour of Brasov before we cross over to Bran Village for the highlight of your trip, the famous Dracula Castle. It was built in 1377 and inhabited by Vlad the Impaler – better known as Dracula before we head north to Sighisoara, Medieval Town with 11 towers. Standing within the city walls which surround cobblestone streets, ancient houses and churches, it is one of Romania’s prettiest towns. Legend has it that it is also the birthplace of the notorious Vlad (Dracula). We shall do a walking tour of this beautiful city which includes the Clock Tower and the History Museum. Wrapping up your Transylvanian outing.
DAY 5
SIGHISOARA - SZEGED (Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner)
Today we leave Romania and head towards Southern Hungary to the city of Szeged, also known as the Sun City due to its long hours of Sunshine. We shall visit the Szeged Synagogue and the City Hall of Szeged.
DAY 6
SZEGED - PECS (Breakfast/ Lunch)
Today morning we shall head to the old town to visit the Cathedral Square and the Votive Church of Szeged before leaving some free time for some souvenirs of Hungary. After lunch, head to Pécs, the fourth largest city in Hungary for your overnight stay.
DAY 7
PECS - ZAGREB (Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner)
Leave Hungary as we head to Zagreb, capital of Croatia since its independence in 1991. Our sightseeing tour will include the Upper & Lower Town. Visit Mirogoj Park Cemetery, whose sculptures and pavilions by architect Hermann Bolle make it one of Europe’s most beautiful memorial parks, the Cathedral of St Stephen with roots dating back 1,000 years, the colorful, open air Dolac Market.
DAY 8
ZAGREB - LJUBLJANA (Breakfast/ Dinner)
Today we head west towards the capital of Slovenia – Ljubljana. The city of Ljubljana is famous for its diverse architecture, including legacies of the Roman. Baroque and Art Nouveau eras, but owes much of its grand style to native born architecture Joze Plecnik, whose vision early in the 20th century transformed his provincial hometown into the capital of the Slovenian nation. We shall enter the old town to view the Opera House, Cathedral, National Museum and Castle.
DAY 9
LJUBLJANA - PLITVICE NATIONAL PARKS (Breakfast/ Dinner)
A drive through the Croatian Highland from Slovenia to Croatia reveals splendid alpine scenery, to one of Europe’s most impressive National Parks – Plitvice Lakes, which was granted Heritage Site status by UNESCO in 1979. The beauty of the National Park lied in its sixteen lakes, inter-connected by a series of waterfalls, and set in deep woodland populated by deer, bears, wolves, boars and rare bird species. Enjoy a scenic cruise before we check in to our hotel tonight.
DAY 10
PLITVICE - SPLIT (Breakfast/ Dinner)
We drive through the Croatian Countryside to Split. Founded by the Emperor Diocletian in AD 305 when he built a palace for his retirement and as the palace grew, so did the city. We will enjoy an in depth sightseeing tour of this gracious city by the sea. We will visit Diocletian’s Palace – a well preserved fortress that was once encircled by 750 foot walls. Highlights include remains of the original palace, a Colonnaded Square and the Temple of Jupiter.
DAY 11
SPLIT - DUBROVNIK (Breakfast/Dinner)
The highlight of your trip is the drive along the Dalmatian coastal route from Split to Dubrovnik. Upon arrival, we will enter into the old town which is traffic free. We’ll see the Rector’s Palace, the City Walls, Onofrio’s fountain and the Franciscan & Dominican Monasteries, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dubrovnik and its five bastions are sure to cast a spell on you.
DAY 12
DUBROVNIK (Breakfast)
Today, the whole day is free at leisure. You may simply want to relax in the old town or take a full day excursion to the Elafiti Island.
DAY 13
DUBROVNIK - SARAJEVO (Breakfast/ Dinner)
Depart Croatia for Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Along the way, you may want to consider and excursion to Mostar. Sarajevo is surrounded by the Dinaric Alps and bisected by the Miljacka River. You will embark on a walking tour of this city, explore the old town.
DAY 14
SARAJEVO - SINGAPORE (Breakfast/ Meals on board)
Today, it is free at leisure till transfer to the airport for your flight back to Singapore. We hope you had enjoyed your trip and we look forward to seeing you again with EU Holidays.
