How it all started
Co-Founder, Cecilia, has a family tradition of going together on a vacation once a year to take a break from stresses of everyday life and reconnect family bonds. Deciding where to go and what to do is often a laborious process as it involves time-consuming visits to multiple travel agencies to obtain brochures and compare prices. In today's increasingly fast-paced world, time is a precious commodity. As such, this inspires Cecilia to team up with her programmer husband, William, to create ETRAVEL CONNECT – a one-stop portal that allows vacation seekers to compare itineraries, prices and departure dates of tour packages offered by various travel agencies in Singapore.

Is Etravel Connect a Travel Agent?
No, we are not a travel agent. We are a travel portal that aggregates travel packages from various travel agencies in Singapore. The easiest way to illustrate what we do will be to compare us to that of a job portal. Job portal allows job seeking candidates to browse available job offers and find the best one that match their skill and expectation. Similarly, Etravel Connect allows travelers to browse available travel packages and find the best that match their interest and budget.

Does Etravel Connect Charge a Service Fee/Additional Fees?
We do not charge any fees to travelers. Similar to job portals where employers pay for job postings, we charge travel agents fees to display their travel packages on our website. Travel agents treat these fees as advertising fees.
 
What are the Differences between Tour Packages, Free & Easy, Land Tours & Activities?
Tour Packages are fully-guided tours so it includes airfares, accommodation, meals and activities as specified in the itineraries.
 
Free & Easy usually only includes airfares and accommodation. Travelers set their own schedule for site seeing. In some instances where it says Land Only or Land Package, airfares will not be included. Occasionally, travel agents may also add in a free half-day/day tour.
 
Land Tours are similar to Tour Packages in which they will have fixed itineraries and include accommodation, meals and activities. However, it does not include airfares. This would be ideal for travelers who already have air tickets (either purchased while on promotion, provided by company for business trips, etc) and do not have the time to plan or not sure which places to visit.

How do I use Etravel Connect Website?
First, decide how you would like to travel - free & easy where you plan for your own activities, or tour package where there's already a structured itinerary and no planning is required.

If you decide on Free & Easy, then most likely the deciding factors would be price. So type in the country/city you would like to go and the number of days you would like to travel. Our search results will then display available packages sorted by price. As most of the prices will not include taxes, click book/enquire on the first 3-4 packages and ask the travel agents for nett prices, hotels and airlines provided, and any other questions you may have (You may want to provide the travel agent with your departure dates and number of pax so that they can respond more precisely). That's it! Each of the respective travel agents will then get back to you on your queries. No more having to call multiple agents and waiting just for your calls to be answered!

If you decide on Tour Packages/Land Tours, you may want to compare itineraries in addition to prices. Similar to Free & Easy, type in the country or/and city you would like to visit and the number of days. Our search results will display the available tour packages sorted by price. Next, browse through the highlights and click "Save to Compare" on the package that may be interested in. You can compare up to three travel packages side by side. Once you have saved two to three packages to compare, click on the "Compare" button and they will be displayed next to one another. Once you have decided on the packages that you like, click the book/enquire button and ask the travel agents for nett prices, hotels, airlines, departure dates availability, and any other other questions you may have. Then you are done! The travel agents will again be the ones contacting you instead of you trying to reach them.

What are the Benefits of Using Etravel Connect website?
  • Firstly, it provides a one-stop place in which you can compare the available travel packages offered by various travel agencies in Singapore.

Review Policy
Etravel Connect encourages reviews as they help provide valuable feedback to business owners and customers. However, inevitably some reviews fall outside the realm of the acceptable.
 
Some spiral off into flame wars.
Some are deliberate attempts to harm a business.
Some are deliberate attempts to boost a business.
 
None of them are acceptable on Etravel Connect.
 
To protect both business owners and customers, we have standards for what constitutes valuable review and we maintain constant vigilance over what comes over the site.
 
We reserve the right to delete any of the following comments or reviews:
  1. Advertising and spam: Don't use reviews for advertising or post the same or similar reviews across multiple places, don't post fake reviews intended to boost or lower ratings, and don't include links to other websites or phone numbers.
  2. Inappropriate content: Don't post reviews that contain or link to unlawful content. Don't post reviews that violate, plagiarize or infringe the rights of third parties.
  3. Off-topic reviews: Reviews should describe your personal, first-hand experience. Don't post reviews based on someone else's experience.

EDITING AND DELETION POLICY
Once a user post a review to Etravel Connect website, we'll try to validate the information before it gets posted. Such validation process may include asking user for more specifics about their experience and cross-checking with corresponding travel agency. Once the review (be it positive or negative) has been validated, it will be posted within 48 hours. We will not remove a user's review unless it is in violation of our Review Policy.
 
We hope we never have to, but if a user repeatedly abuses our Comment and Review Policy, we delete all of their comments on every post without warning and disable their account.
