Arrive Boston
Welcome to Boston! Upon arrival at Boston Logan International airport, your airport transfer takes you to your downtown hotel. Later join your Tour Director for a Welcome Reception, and an opportunity to get to know each other over a pleasant evening of dinner and wine

DAY 2 |
Coastal New England, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park
After a brief Boston orientation tour, travel northwards into Maine. Stop in Portland to explore the restored 19th century buildings and historic Old Port. Continue to Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island. After a night’s rest, take in the surrounding beauty of Acadia National Park, with its dramatic rocky shoreline, beaver ponds and spectacular views from the top of Cadillac Mountain. Then time to enjoy Bar Harbor at your own pace. This evening feast on authentic Maine lobster with all of the traditional ingredients.

The 'Loyalist City' of Saint John
Travel across the Canadian border into New Brunswick. See the amazing Reversing Falls before reaching Saint John. After the American revolution, Saint John welcomed some 14,000 American British supporters and was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1785, making it Canada’s first incorporated city. Your hotel is located right on the harbour.

DAY 5 |
The King of Tides, Charlottetown and Prince Edward Island
The phenomenal Bay of Fundy is home to the world’s highest and wildest tides. Depending on when you visit, the Hopewell Rocks could be stories high or nearly swallowed by the sea. Drive across the modern Confederation Bridge to the Prince Edward Island capital of Charlottetown. This evening, you are offered a selection of local restaurants for your dining pleasure. The next morning walk through the ‘Time Travel Tunnel’ of Founders’ Hall and enjoy a guided walking tour of Charlottetown. Travel up the north shore to the wind-swept dunes, beaches and broad inlets of Prince Edward Island National Park. Take a guided tour of the farm house that inspired the setting for L.M. Montgomery’s “Anne of Green Gables.” The evening is at leisure.

Ingonish Beach, the Cabot Trail and Cape Breton Highlands National Park
Ferry across the Northumberland Strait to charming Pictou. See the full-sized replica of the three-masted ship Hector, commemorating the voyage of the first Scottish immigrants in 1773. Continue across the Canso Strait before reaching Ingonish Beach at the foot of the Cape Breton Highlands. Settle into your hotel, superbly located on a promontory overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. After dinner, learn about the diversity and ecology of Nova Scotia’s coastal and inland habitats at an enlightening slide-show presentation by a naturalist. The following day is devoted to the Cabot Trail, one of the most spectacular drives on the continent. Travel the full length enjoying stunning vistas of rust-coloured cliffs, the deep blue ocean and postcard-perfect fishing harbours. Explore Cape Breton Highlands National Park, an exceptional wilderness area where you may spot a moose among the lakes and streams.

Travel to Baddeck Bay and tranquil Bras d’Or Lake. Visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site where models, photo displays, artifacts, and films commemorate the genius of the great inventor. Travel south to Halifax, Nova Scotia’s lively harbour-front capital. This evening is entirely at leisure. Enjoy a sightseeing tour the next morning, including the Public Gardens, waterfront and Spring Garden Road. Learn about the Halifax Explosion and the city’s connection to the Titanic. Towering over downtown Halifax, the Citadel is a testament to the city’s military past. Visit this National Historic Site and marvel at the panoramic views. Continue to the picturesque seaside village of Peggy’s Cove situated on the scenic Lighthouse Route. Upon your return to Halifax, perhaps explore the boutiques and restaurants nestled in the three square blocks of Historic Properties, Canada’s oldest shipping warehouses. Tonight, raise a glass to your newfound friends and your Maritimes sojourn at a lively Highlight Dinner.

Bangor and Scenic Kennebunkport
Return to the United States and visit Bangor, former “Lumber Capital of the World” and fictional setting for many stories by Stephen King. Continue to the delightful resort of Kennebunkport, where a scenic drive along Ocean Avenue provides stunning views of the coast and the palatial homes of the rich and famous, including the Bush family compound. Tonight, raise your glasses at a Celebration Dinner of seasonal and local influence with wine.

A Salem Witch Hunt and back to Boston
Enjoy more scenic coastline on the way to historic Salem, home to the infamous witchcraft trials of 1692. Your tour draws to a close with a departure transfer to Boston Logan International Airport or the Boston tour hotel for guests extending their stay. Please do not schedule flights before 4 p.m.
