DAY 1 |
SINGAPORE – (TRANSIT CITY) – URUMQI
Stay at local 5*Jinjiang International Hotel or similar
Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Urumqi via transiting city. Urumqi which means ‘beautiful pasture’ is the Capital of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Passing the doorway of Urumqi Airport, we will visit Heavenly Lake, a small mountain lake in a high mountain area reminiscent of the Alps in Tianshan Tianchi National Park. Take a cruise round the Heavenly Lake which was also once known as Yao Chi. Note: Cruise will be subjected to weather condition, should the Lake be frozen, cruise will be cancelled. |
DAY 2 |
URUMQI – TURPAN

Estimated distance: 190km/Estimated hours on road: 3 hours Taking a morning drive to Flaming Mountains in Turpan, immortalised in the classical Chinese novel “Journey to the West”, Monkey King – Sun Wuhong wrecked the heavens and spilled burning charcoal over these mountain, causing the mountain to be hot all year round. He then borrowed a Magic Fan from Iron Fan Princess to extinguish the blaze. While the heat level has been exaggerated much in the novel, in reality the heat around the area is not to be underestimated. The spontaneous combustion of the underground coal seam makes this area hot. Afterwards, learn the civilization of the earliest settlers as we visit Jiaohe Ruins a Chinese archaeological site found in the Yarnaz Valley, and one of the best preserved cities of its time in China. Following witness Sugong Ta (Emin Minaret), the tallest minaret in China at 44 meters, built to commemorate local Turpan General Emin Khoja who defeated the Dzungar Mongols. It is also one of the most ancient and iconic Islamic symbol in the country. Further discover as we visit the Qanat(Karez Well), find out how the denizen turned the arid regions into sustaining agricultural by the ancient qanat system of tapping alluvial aquifers at the heads of valleys and conducting the water along underground tunnels. Engage and get to know more about the cultures locals as we visit the ancient town of the Uyghur. Special arrangements made for Homevisit to the Turpans, and get to sample the seasonal fruits (Grapes, Korla pears, Figs, Watermelons, Melons, Walnuts). *If you visit during the Grape harvest season, we will visit Grape Valley and get to purchase some grapes. Feast in Roast Whole Lamb Banquet for dinner. *Note: In the event visit is not during the Grape harvest, visit to Grape valley will be cancelled and will not be replaced. TURPAN – KORLA

DAY 4 |
KORLA – KUQA

Estimated distance: 300km/Estimated hours on road: 4 hours Sit back as we travel to Kuche (Kuqa). Tranverse across 217 highways to reach the North of Tarim Basin, Salt Lake Valley, a series of surface salt structures. This magnificent sight is a result the fluvial stream with high salt eroding into the walls. Over the years, through the basin’s movement, cause the elevation of the walls and salt structures. Move on to the Mystic Grand Canyon of the Tianshan formed by red brown sand stone carved by the wind as well as the rain. The mountain bodies vary in shapes and the peaks stand high into the sky with channel inside channel and vale inside vale, the local Uyghur people call it “Kirzriya” which means red mountain cliff in Chinese. KUQA – AKSU

Estimated distance: 260km/Estimated hours on road: 3.5 hours After breakfast, visit the second largest temple in Xinjiang, Kuqa Mosque. It is a religious place for worshippers of Islamic people. The sculptures, murals, windows and doors in the temple have rich Uighur style. It is a typical of Islamic architecture. Visit Kizil Cave, it is known as one of China's four major cave temples. Kizil Cave was built in the end of the Han dynasty; the exquisite murals that are preserved today are famous for their bumpy and concave paintings. Meals: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

AKSU – HOTAN

Crossing the horizonless sands of the Taklamakan Desert, in the midst of the desert, spot Populus euphratic Forest thriving in extreme environment challenges. Especially fond by photography lovers in the month of autumn, the Golden leaves radiates with life against the barren desert. 36 countries have been engulfed by the sand and the populous trees are the only witness to the history of this harsh desert. HOTAN – KASHGAR

A number of kings, princes and princesses were buried there in historical sequence. Tomb of Amannisha, is frequently visited by the local as she was most well-known was a princess, the famous poet and musician who had composed the 'Twelve Mukam'. Her significant achievement contributed to the glorious culture of China. KASHGAR – KARAKUL LAKE – KASHGAR

Estimated distance: 200km/Estimated hours on the road: 5 hours After breakfast, take coach to Gez Canyon to explore the natural scenery. After that, continue move towards to the Pamirs, where you will enjoy the scenery of the Bulungkol Lake and Karakoram Highway along the way. Next, coach to Karakul Lake at an altitude of 3,600 meters, with a depth of more than 30 meters and lake area of about 10 square kilometres. It is the largest of the many lakes on the Pamirs. The lake is surrounded by mountains, densely covered with grass. There are often Kirgiz people stationed here. Meals: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

KASHGAR

After breakfast, visit the Idgar Mosque. As the largest mosque in China, it is a group of old Islamic constructions with strong ethnic style and religious features. It is extremely popular among the Muslims in Xinjiang. The Mosque was first built in 1442 and has a history of over 500 years. The building complex is in grand Islamic style, with strong religious features consisting of a gate tower, a courtyard, a doctrine-teaching hall, and a large Hall of Prayer. It is a sacred ground for the Muslims, likewise Afaq Khoja Mausoleum. Visit the ancient town of Kashgar that the Chinese government designated Kashgar a “city of historical and cultural significance”. Discover as you walk along the streets and imagine how the people had lived before. Meals: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
