Welcome to Switzerland, land of clocks, chocolates and indispensable Swiss army knives. Begin your trip with a mandatory visit to the largest forest in Germany, known as Black Forest. Then, adjourn to the tourist resort township of Titisee, home to Germany’s largest cuckoo clock centre and one of Germany’s most idyllic lakes. You will be pleased to learn that you can tuck in to an original Black Forest lunch comprising German pork knuckles and sausages and the iconic Black Forest cake. After lunch, feast your eyes on the range of cuckoo clocks before you witness the natural grandeur of Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Western Europe. Continue to Pontresina, a picturesque mountain village, to spend the night.

PONTRESINA – GLACIER EXPRESS – ZERMATT

This morning, take a ride ride on Glacier Express, Switzerland’s most famous mountain railway which journeys over hundreds of bridges and through dozens of tunnels. Admire unique panoramic views of the Swiss Alps and the surrounding valleys, mountain forests, alpine meadows, rushing streams and villages as you travel to the unique resort of Zermatt. Thereafter, you may spend some time to explore the nightlife of this lively winter and summer resort.

ZERMATT

This morning, spend your time at leisure to explore Hinterdorf Street, a picturesque, car-free village, on foot. As you walk along the town’s most striking street dotted with traditional slope-roofed wooden alpine dwellings, it will not be difficult to picture what its village life was like in centuries past. Next, board Europe’s highest open-air cog railway to Gornergrat. During the ride, you will rise to 3135 metres above sea level and get to enjoy stunning panoramas of Matterhorn and the Swiss Alps. Relax on the summit terrace before you begin your return journey.

ZERMATT – LAVAUX – BERN – INTERLAKEN

Today, discover Lavaux Vineyard Terraces aboard a Lavaux Express train ride. The Lavaux Express is a small train on tyres composed by a tractor locomotive and 2 coaches. Travel on the steep paths of the vineyard and experience an unusual way of discovering the beautiful landscapes of the region. Next, enjoy a wine-tasting session to sample some of the region’s finest Swiss wines. Then, enjoy a scenic drive to Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Upon arrival, proceed to Bahnhofplatz, the medieval centre of Bern built on a hill and surrounded on three sides by the Aare River. Keep your eyes peeled for the 16th-century astronomical Clock Tower with its ornate decorations. A short walk away, you will find house No. 49, once Albert Einstein’s home where he had written the groundbreaking “Theory of Relativity” in 1905. Not to be missed is a visit to the iconic bear pit, dedicated to the bear which is the protagonist of Bern’s coat of arms. Thereafter, make your journey to Interlaken, an integral and breathtaking attraction of the Swiss Alps. Here, you can catch gorgeous views of the Jungfrau Mountain in the Bernese Oberland region. Tonight, savour a Swiss combo fondue dinner of cheese, meat and chocolate.

INTERLAKEN

Today, spend the morning at leisure to revel in this spellbinding resort town. Alternatively, you may choose to take an optional journey to Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe at your own expense. Here, the hills are indeed alive with scenery that is perfect for plenty of Kodak moments.

INTERLAKEN – LUCERNE

After breakfast, continue to the picturesque township of Lucerne and embark on a walking tour to the famous Chapel Bridge and the stirring Lion Monument, carved from a limestone cliff in memory to the Swiss guards that died defending the French King. Thereafter, you may opt to while the day away with a cuppa or well, there is always shopping for luxury brands, watches, music boxes, famous Swiss chocolates and more.

LUCERNE – ZURICH

Spend the day at your own leisure. Alternatively, you may also choose to take an optional excursion to the top of Mt Titlis at your own expense. In the afternoon, return to Zurich for your overnight stay.
