* Visit - Asahiyama Zoo
The northernmost zoo in Japan, its popularity lies in the enclosures which allow visitors to observe animals from various angles such as penguin pool and glass domes in the middle of the polar bear enclosure. LAKE AKAN→KUSHIRO→TOKACHIGAWA

This beautiful crater lake is home to mariomo (rare algae species). Enjoy the snowy landscape in Lake Akan where locals come here for ice fishing. * Seasonal Bonus - Witness Japanese Red-crowned Cranes in Tsurui Village Happens to be a breeding ground for the majestic Japanese tancho crane (the second rarest crane species in the world) from Nov till Mar. The cranes are most spectacular to watch as they dance, often in pairs, with seemingly choreographed dips and jumps. * Visit - Kushiro Washo Market About 60 stalls selling seafood and dried products. A popular meal at the market is "Kattedon", a donburi dish where diners can personalize their rice bowl with seafood bought from the vendors. * Photo - Kofuku Station Did you know that happiness is a destination? Kofuku means happiness; this station has been abandoned for 26 years but regarded as one of the famous train station in Japan. You can write your wishes on “ticket to happiness” and stick it to the wall. * Visit - Ikeda Wine Castle Appearance of the building resembles a European castle.
