Things to do in Bali: Best Beach Clubs and Places to Chill

Bali is just one of Indonesia’s over 17,000 islands, but is without a doubt the most popular among tourists, and there are many very good reasons for this. Whether it’s the crystal clear waters, the white sandy beaches, the delicious seafood or the charming locals, people just keep coming back to Bali year after year. The island itself is fairly big with lots of different areas so it really depends what you are looking for but most tourists head to the South which is the most developed part with the famous Kuta Beach.

Perhaps you’re looking for a cultural holiday, maybe you want to be in the middle of the party, or it could be that you’re looking for some adrenaline-fueled adventure. Bali has it all so if you want a mixture of everything, that’s possible too; however, if all you want to do is chill out and unwind then here are some perfect places to do it:

Air Panas Banjar

In the middle of the jungle, near Lovina Beach, are some natural hot springs descending into three lavishly carved stone pools. You can even hire your own private pool for the ultimate relaxation; soak with others in the public pools, or get a massage from powerful jets of water coming from the four-metre high fountains.

La Plancha

This pretty Spanish beach bar is a wonderful place to enjoy a cocktail and some tapas while relaxing on the sand. The multi-coloured bean bags and umbrellas make the place enchanting and vibrant, while also offering perfect comfort. Later on the party starts and the energy picks up, with DJs playing hip electro music to a friendly crowd.

KuDeTa

For a truly decadent time, head to this fancy establishment and grab a daybed on the beach while you sleep off last night’s cocktails and then order one of their huge breakfasts. If you stay too long you’ll be persuaded to join the party again as renowned DJs start playing or one of their famous themed parties begins.

Potato Head Beach Club

You need to get here early (before the club even opens) to get a place by the pool where you can chill and laze around on the day beds. If you did not manage to get the pool beds, don’t worry you can still sit around the lawn overlooking the beach or if you prefer the shade, at the restaurants. The ambiance is relaxing and the food and drinks are great. A fabulous place to hang out with friends or simply chill!

The modern design, huge pool area, beachside restaurant and trendy bar make it a great place to experience whether you want a luxurious massage, a fresh seafood brunch, or a night of clubbing.

Bingin Beach

If you’re looking for your own piece of beach for the day, head to Bingin Beach on the Uluwatu strip which is a lot quieter than the others due to the many steps down to the sand. Well worth the trouble, you can chill out in peace between ocean and jungle, and perhaps sample some fresh seafood from one of the local barbecues or else a revitalising freshly-squeezed juice.
